M-Commerce Establishes the Next Phase of Ecommerce
Mobile commerce first appeared in the ecommerce sphere a few short years ago, and continues to grow into something that will change the face of ecommerce. It’s important to note that it doesn’t include desktop purchases, only those made from a mobile device like a smartphone or tablet. According to BI Intelligence, m-commerce is on track to eclipse desktop/PC commerce by roughly $300 billion by 2020. Social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest have already adopted their versions of a mobile commerce platform to entice shoppers. As of now, roughly 80 percent of ecommerce merchants with a minimum of $50 million annual sales offer or will soon offer m-commerce, says Business Insider.
